How to make a CHiPS Blog

Don’t 

·      Blog/write stories longer than 200 words 

·      Use copyrighted material 

·      Be discourteous or disrespectful 

·      Describe details of specific young or vulnerable people

Do

·      Read these guidelines before you start

·      Aim to keep your blog/story to 100-200 words

·       Keep your style informal and conversational

·      Think about what you want to say before you start. Describe any events or moments, the changes it has made to the community a young or vulnerable person, or tips you'd like to share

·      Think about the events in your story and build your story around them

·      Read through your blog/story from the viewpoint of a reader

·      Check that your blog/story makes sense 

Submitting your blog 

We will try to respond to all the blogs/stories we’ve receive, however, don’t be too disappointed if you don’t hear back from us in the short term as we receive many requests to publish blogs.

Blog publication process

If we are able to use your blog/story, we’ll email you to let you know. As we receive lots of requests, this can sometimes take a few weeks.

From time to time, we’ll edit your final blog to ensure clarity and web usability to fit our house style. If significant changes are required, we will contact you so that you are able to review your blog before publication. Where relevant, we will provide links to our own information.  At the end of your post, please include a short title and a link to your website or social media handle.  If you would like to include a photo of yourself or your business, please make sure it is of website quality.

·     CHiPS reserve the right not to publish a blog submitted.

·     By submitting a blog post for publication on our website, you are granting all rights to the copy and confirming that the rights to any materials used are yours, and that any sources are credited as necessary.

·     CHiPS may reproduce your blog post in its entirety or quotes from your blog, in public relations, electronic media and promotional materials.

·      Any information provided will be kept in line with CHiPS privacy policy.
